A big THANK YOU! to all the volunteers who came out yesterday for Keep McIntosh Beautiful’s 5th Barrington Park Cleanup for RIVERS ALIVE!, the annual fall outreach program of Ga. EPD to clean and preserve over 70,000 miles of our state’s rivers and streams. GREAT GROUP EFFORT by our 19 volunteers! We filled 28 bag and collected 2 chairs, carpet, lumber, tires, and an umbrella, for a total of 740 pounds of trash removed from the water, shorelines and sandbars along the Altamaha River and Harper Lake, and at Barrington Park. And SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR PARTNERS: Altamaha Riverkeeper, DNR/Fort King George State Historic Site, Kennon Amerson/South Georgia Coast Builders and Julie Dean – we couldn’t do this without you!
