McIntosh County Academy senior Morgan E. Hay is this year’s recipient of the Keep McIntosh Beautiful Scholarship. KMB Executive Director Julie Sowell presented the $500 scholarship to Morgan at the annual Honors Night event at MCA on Thursday, May 19.
KMB began a scholarship program in 2013 to encourage students to become involved in environmental stewardship in McIntosh County and to develop the values, skills and sense of responsibility that translate to caring about, and for, their community surroundings.
Morgan, the daughter of Fred Hay and Renee Valle-Hay of Sapelo Island, was active with the MCA Student Conservation Corps, organized recycling projects and helped plant an orchard and garden at MCA. She will be attending Georgia Southern University this fall.
Thank you to all the students who applied for the 2016 KMB Scholarship. Keep up the good work you are doing for our environment and your contribution to keeping McIntosh County clean, green and beautiful.
